There are usually several embedded subtitle tracks in the MKV video files. When we play the mkv video using the IINA player, the subtitles would be automatically displayed. However, if we want to send the MKV format video to a phone, or share it with friends, we will need to convert the MKV format file to a more compatible MP4 or MOV format file. But due to the limitations of MP4 and MOV formats, the subtitle tracks are generally discarded after converting to MP4 or MOV format file.

At this point, it is necessary to burn the subtitles into the video during the conversion process, so that the converted video can display the subtitles normally during playback.

By using the "Video Compressor" of Focus Video, we can burn subtitles into our favorite movies just like a subtitle group. It supports reading embedded subtitle tracks in the mkv movies or external subtitle files downloaded from subtitle websites. Common subtitle formats such as SRT, ASS, SSA, PGS, and SUB are all supported.

You can follow the steps bellow to burn a subtitle into the video:

  1. Select and import the video files you want
